volunteer charity
A charity that has 80 million+ volunteers that devote their time to connecting with communities large or small, national and international
. About 60.8 million people volunteered through or for an organization at least once between September 2006 and September 2007, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported. The proportion of the population who volunteered was 26.2 percent. This 0.5 percentage point decrease in the volunteer rate follows a decline of 2.1 percentage points in the prior year. The volunteer rate had held constant at 28.8 percent from 2003 through 2005, after rising slightly from its 2002 level of 27.4 percent. In the year ending September 2007, both the number of volunteers and the volunteer rate declined from the previous year. The economy is bad and rather than complaining, think about helping, volunteering, connecting with a community less fortunate.

Quince,
Here are my thoughts:
Volunteer charity
This is an interesting choice. Your challenge here would be to generate interest in giving when people are contracting, rather than expanding financially. What would the impetus to give be?
Senior Citizens Airline
Smart marketing with this one. Keep in mind that you'll probably have to find a way to offer discounts (people on fixed incomes tend to be frugal) while maintaining quality. How would you communicate this in the brand? (rhetorical for now)
Personalized Newspaper
The first thing that occurred to me on this one was how is it different from a simple RSS feed? I'm not sure there's enough to sink your teeth into here, but I could be wrong.
Give some thoughts to my comments, Id like for us to have a direction nailed down by end of day Monday so you can kick off your research prior to our Wednesday class.
